We use a Java based viewer displaying the contents of another computer. As we were using the OCR part of the program it managed to screen scrape the data successfully without the Java plug-in. We ran into huge problems when we installed the Java plug-in; causing the Java software to terminate. So I would recommend you try it without the Java components first as that may do the trick, then pop in the plug-in only if you are having problems.
